Monday Betfair Trading Tips - Madrid Masters
Chela takes on Frenchman Mannarino. Neither has been in great form. Mannarino showed some promise earlier in the season but he seems to have dropped away. This should be a straight sets win for Chela but its hard to trust him at 1.30 . I’ll wait to see how this one is going and definitely want a better price to back Chela.
The Querrey v Llodra match has some more interesting starting prices. Both have only played 1 match recently on clay and both lost. This won’t be a great match to watch as neither is really at home on the clay but Llodra has the weaker record over the last 12 months with just 1 win from 4 on the dirt to Querrey’s 7 wins from 12.
Monfils takes on Karlovic which should be an interesting one. Karlovic has been is excellent form but Monfils has a good record against big servers having won 11 of his last 12 matches against a big serve. Also Karlovic has lost 6 of his last 7 matches where his opponent was a top 1o player. Their head to heads are 2-2 with Karlovic winning the last 2. Karlovic hasn’t played since his semi final in the US Claycourt Championships at the start of April so I am going for Monfils in this one. Having said that I expect Karlovic to make a fight of it and I will be waiting for a better price than the 1.54 currently on offer.
Hanescu seems a fair price at 1.52 against Malisse who hasn’t shown much form on clay this year.
Nishikori plays Riba. They played in Barcelona a couple of weeks ago when Riba retired after losing the first set. If he is fit then he will be boosted by playing in front of a Spanish crowd but Nishikori is a strong favourite. I’m not sure home advantage will be enough to level this match up. Nishikori has a far better recent record. Lets hope his form continues.
Ferrero continues his comeback and is up against De Bakker. If Ferrero was 100% match fit then 1.48 would be a great price. His comeback tournament in Barcelona went as well as could be expected with his losing to Almagro in the quarter final. De Bakker has had to come through the qualifying rounds here which means he is used to the conditions and the courts. Ferrero is better on return of serve but there has to be a slight doubt over his fitness levels. I think he will come through this but will have to fight especially if De Bakker’s serve is working well.
