For tomorrow i will post this a little bit early as i think the odds will fall. We will have today the clash of argentinean Juan Monaco and frenchman Gael Monfils. The form of the player is completely different at the moment. While Monaco is 9/11 this year, Gael has a positive 11/4 record despite being injured for almost two months. He seems now that he recovered from the injury. Monaco started here in a shaky way, winning in 3 sets against Golubev, a player that is out of sorts this year with a record of 4 wins and 15 defeats.

Juan Monaco is error prone as of late if anyone pushes him in long rallies and as Gael is one of the best retriever on court he will definatley use this tactic against the argentinean. H2H between the two shows shared wins (2-2), Monaco winning 2 times on clay while Monfils won 1 match on clay and 1 on hard, BUT the last match took place in 2008(Monfils won at Paris Masters) and lots had changed since then. The game of Monfils improved by a long shot, now, the frenchman being nr. 10 in the world.

So, I see the game being one sided and I don't think that Monaco will have the weapons to hurt Gael anymore. I go with Gael in straight sets having in mind that he has also a QF to defend.
