Czech Republic - Sparta Prague vs Slavia Prague

Programmed tonight at 20:00 CET is the local Prague derby between Sparta and Slavia. It is the 275th time these two teams meet. This year the difference in the championship table is huge between them. It cannot be regarded as the match of the year as it used to be.

While Sparta is attacking the title, Slavia is in the bottom half of the table. Since the new start of the championship, this spring, Slavia did not know the bitterness of defeat, however, its position in the table is almost the same. "Certainly we have a chance to succeed in the derby. I think this time Sparta is under greater pressure than we do. They chase the title, they cannot afford to stumble now" said Slavia's coach.

Sparta, who is second in the table, keeps the chances to defend the championship title alive. The leader, Plzen are 9 points away and they cannot afford to lose the game today. In fact they should fear also Jablonec who is a mere two points behind them. "Our position puts us in the role of Derby favourite, but the last performance we had in the derby against Jablonec was certainly not enough" said coach Jozef Chovanec, who made some changes in the team compared to the game against Jablonec. Captain Tomas Repka is suspended for this game. Thomas Zapotocny will replace him in defence.

Salvia will miss forward Naumov.
