Czech Republic - Midweek cup games

Written by Betting-RSS admin on 19 April 2011.

Plzen vs Mlada Boleslav  -  20:00 CET

On Wednesday, it will be played the return leg that will give the first semifinalist in the Czech cup. Plzen, the current league leader, lost the first match at Mlada Boleslav 1-2.

"We have no reason to rest some players, we will field the strongest team" said Plzen's coach Pavel Vrba. Despite not winning at Mlada Plzen is happy with the one goal that they have scored, goal that counts as two. "The result 1-2 in our view is a good result to attack tomorrow. We want the fans to come in large numbers to see us playing the best football" said coach Vrba. Plzen will have a complete squad.

Mlada knows that the lead they have is not that high. "Although we won the first match and it was a great victory we need to do everything to keep the result", said coach Karel Stranner, which cannot count on first GK Miller(20 games played this season) and will probably use J. Seda who played only 4 games.

Mlada is fighting for a European Cup place on two fronts - both in the league and in the cup. "Of course we realize that winning the domestic cup is a shorter route to Europe, there are 4 matches to go. It's closer than playing 6 rounds to clinch the third place in the championship" Stanner said.

Plzen will want to make the double this year. The difference of one goal can be turned in their favour in this game. Plzen will have to create lots of chances and score as much as they can against the second GK of Mlada. Odds are around 2 for Plzen and could be worth a few units.

Kromeriz vs Brno - 17:00 CET

Not so many news about this game. Also we see that only 5 bookmakers got up the lines for this one. 5 against 45 from Plzen - Mlada Boleslav. A little bit weird. Kromeriz made the surprise of the 1st leg in the quarterfinals winning at Brno 2-1.

Brno is in a bad situation in the championship, having no more than 4 games lost in a row. Coach Pavel Vecera was sacked and Rene Wagner took its place. He made his debut in not a nice fashion losing it's first game 0-1 with Liberec in the last round. "Although we lost, we saw in our game some positive reactions. Players were good and they looked more like a team than in the last games" said Wagner.

He wants his team to get past the disgrace of losing the first game. "We want to continue in the cup although the league is our priority. I have 2 options: field the best team or give some players from sunday a chance to play, I will have to think this" said Wagner.

So, we have Brno who would want to overtake Kromeriz, but would they make it? Will coach Wagner field the best team or the reserves? We cannot risk a bet on this one.
