Bernard Tomic vs. Yen-Hsun Lu- 2011 Rogers Cup Match Preview

In the first round of Rogers Cup, Aussie Bernard Tomic takes on Yen-hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei. Tomic looks to be the favourite in this battle.

Still without a singles title on the ATP World Tour, 18 year old Australian Bernard Tomic shot to super stardom this year in January when he reached the Australian Open third round, giving home fans plenty to talk, and celebrate about. His road may have been ended by the 2009 champion Rafael Nadal, but Tomic left an impression. As months passed by, the Australian prepared himself for bigger tests and finally recorded his first ever top 10 win over Robin Soderling that also helped him secure his maiden Grand slam quarterfinal berth against the 'man-of-the-moment'- Novak Djokovic. Though he lost the match but he became the youngest man to reach the Wimbledon QFs since Becker in 1986.

Tomic will start off his campaign here against World No. 66 Yen-hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei, who is still chasing his first ATP tour title. Yen-hsun Lu has a poor 11-17 win-loss record this year and has failed to deliver a eye grabbing performance this year. He reached quarterfinals both in Atlanta and Los Angeles few weeks ago and looks to be getting in form off lately.
