Caroline Wozniacki is into the semifinals of the 2011 Brussels Open on the WTA Tour as she looks for her first title since Charleston earlier this season.
The Dane will face Francesca Schiavone on Friday, the reigning French Open champion, as the world number one looks for her first clay court win over Italy's number one.
Wozniacki leads their head-to-head series 3-2 and she has won their last three meetings however in the only match that they played on clay, at the 2010 French Open, Schiavone came away the winner en route to the title.
Wozniacki comes in as a mild favorite at 1.5 with Bet365 while Schiavone comes in at 2.5. Both players have to have the 2011 French Open in the back of their minds right now although the Brussels title is certainly worth an effort as it is at the Premier level on tour.
Based on what I have seen in the previous games I would rate both players as mediocre at the moment, but I don't see Schiavone posing problems to the young dane, so a bet on Wozniacki is the way to go if you ask me.
