Marion Bartoli will be contending for her sixth WTA title on Saturday, having reached the final of this week’s Internationaux de Strasbourg. The world No. 11 has never previously reached a tournament final in her native France, and this contest provides her with a huge opportunity. A victory here would be the perfect preparation for Roland Garros.
Bartoli’s opponent here will be Andrea Petkovic of Germany. Petkovic was involved in a marathon matchup against Daniela Hantuchova in the semi-finals, and escaped after almost three hours with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win. Petkovic entered this competition as the world No. 15, and is searching for her first title of the season.
Prior to this match, Bartoli has a 2-1 head to head record against Petkovic. Bartoli won the last match between the pairing on clay, though this was back in 2007, and things could work out differently this time. Bartoli and Petkovic have already met twice this season, with each player winning one match each. 

Remember, that Bartoli considers this her home tournamnet, being born in Strasbourg, so there is a little more motivation on her side.
