WTA Toronto Preview: Andrea Petkovic vs. Agnieszka Radwanska
Andrea Petkovic and Agnieszka Radwanska will meet on Friday in an eagerly anticipated Rogers Cup quarter-final.
Andrea Petkovic has been making steady progress here in Toronto, and she put in her best performance of the week on Thursday to defeat seventh seed Petra Kvitova in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Petkovic hasn’t lost a set all week, and she remains on course to make a serious challenge for the prestigious Rogers Cup title. Petkovic still has a lot of work left to do though. Her next opponent will be thirteenth seed Agnieszka Radwanska.

Radwanska has also gotten this far without conceding a set, and she should be in good spirits following her 6-4, 7-6(4) win over world No. 3 Vera Zvonareva. Following her title success last week in Carlsbad, Radwanska appears to be in red-hot form at the moment.
Given that both of these competitors are playing so well, this matchup has the makings of a memorable encounter. Whilst it’s not easy to pick a favourite here, Radwanska seems to have the edge following her 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 win against Petkovic just under a week ago.
