Australian Samantha Stosur who has arrived at Tokyo, Japan to participate in the Pan Pacific Open is keeping things simple and under control by concentrating hard on her tennis. The Australian is expecting stiff competition in Tokyo.

U.S. Open champion Samantha Stosur of Australia has been expecting stiff competition at the 2011 Pan Pacific Open, beginning from today. The 27-year-old Australian edged past Serena Williams in the final of the US Open, earlier this month to become the first Australian woman to win a Gland Slam title since 1980.

Currently ranked as World No. 7 in the world, the Australian is featured in the draw with other top 10 players, including Vera Zvonareva of Russia and Wimbledon champ Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic.

The Australian quoted, ''This week is a new week. You win a week before and there are no guarantees for the next week.” She further added that ''So I have to get back on the practice court and keep training hard and being fully prepared for the first round.''

Defending champion Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark is seeded first in this tournament, followed up by Maria Sharapova, who won this title two years ago.
