WTA Linz Open: Daniela Hantuchova vs. Petra Martic

Daniela Hantuchova is scheduled to face Petra Martic on Wednesday in the first round of the Generali Ladies Linz Open.

Daniela Hantuchova has been in decent form in recent months, but she’ll need to be at her best to make a big impression at this year’s Generali Ladies Linz Open. She’s in amongst a field of top quality players, including Petra Kvitova, Jelena Jankovic, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Sabine Lisicki and Julia Goerges.

Hantuchova’s first round opponent will be Petra Martic of Croatia. Martic is ranked just outside of the top fifty, and she’ll be eager to get one over the 2007 champion. She exited last week’s China Open in round one, so she’ll be searching for a gameplan that will get her back to winning ways.

This will be the first competitive meeting between Hantuchova and Martic. Hantuchova should have the experience and ability to get the better of the 20 year-old, but Martic has enough about her to make this a close match. After Martic’s defeat against Laura Robson last week, Hantuchova seems to be the likely victor on Wednesday.
